Martlets Shutout by Rumsey Hall

Thirds field hockey traveled to Rumsey Hall to try and avenge a loss from earlier in the season. While they came up short on the scoreboard, they received compliments from the official who labeled them "Most Improved Team" after seeing us earlier in the season. Caroline Breslav '26 suited up as goalie again and notched an extraordinary 21 saves. Rumsey controlled most of the first half. Their impressive stick skills and tenacity were simply too much to overtake. Nevertheless, the Martlets shook off the long drive and started playing their game in the second half. The defense had a little less work to do while the offense was given more opportunities to play. Virginia Whiting '26 and Fran Trafelet '26 both shone at their typical forward line positions as well as stepping up as midfielders. Audrey Khuu '26 also had a strong showing at midfield and worked tirelessly to defend our goal and feed the ball to the forwards. Ellie Pearman '25 and Lauren Levinson '26 had some impressive defensive tackles and drives to move the ball upfield. The Martlets play their final game on Wednesday at Loomis.
