Martlets Win on the Road

The Martlets were back on the road again but luckily just in West Hartford against the Wyverns of KO. The first half set the tone for what would be a physical battle for 90 mins. Parker Sinclair ‘23 would bail the visitors out a few times with some great saves. The start of the second half would be more of the same, just good hard physical play in the middle of the field. Finally around the 30th min Lawrence Taylor ‘23 would hit a well struck ball across the box which Leo DiStefano ‘24 would knock home for a 1-0. KO would press late and put a lot of men forward which opened up the counter attack for the Martlets. Gabe Mays-Sanchez ‘23 would drive down the side and curl a ball into the far side of the box to an oncoming Theo Massie-Vereker ‘23 who would one touch it into the net. The game ball would go to DiStefano for his first goal of his Westminster career in a big match. The team wrench would be passed on to Tommy Cramer ‘23 for his tremendous hard work in the middle of the field. The back line of Massie-Vereker, Smith, Raymond, Assadi, Clarke and Schmidt was a hard line to crack today. Westminster is happy to be back at home Wednesday.
