Martlets Win on the Road

The JV Boys recorded their first win of the season on a slick Massachusetts field this afternoon. The rain caused problems for both sides, but the Westminster boys found just enough sharpness to finish the first half 2-0 up. Jin Li ‘25 opened the scoring, and Daniel Olaosebikan ‘26 doubled the lead just three minutes later. Both goals came from battling individual runs and were rewards for hard work. It was good to have Jin back from injury and see him working well with the developing team around him. Williston found their way back into the game after a lapse of concentration in the second half to make for a tetchy end to the game. Alex Wood ‘25 once again contributed to the positive result with several fine saves on a wet surface. Finn Williams ‘26 is proving a resilient powerhouse at the heart of the team. Recently back from injury, Finn was never afraid to make a hard challenge or put the team before himself. Jake Andreski ‘25 had another good outing in defense. Jake is always trying to learn the game better and improve his technical abilities. There is no situation Jake fears, whether a one against one on the outside, or a seventy yard recovery sprint. Jake revels in the hard work that makes teams great.
