Martlets Defeat Miss Porter's

The girls got back on track today with a big win against visiting Miss Porter's. Smart passing led to a decisive possession advantage, and the offense was at its season best at generating dangerous chances on goal. The payoff came quickly, as the Martlets struck twice in the first five minutes. Alexi Haimes ‘23 got things started by one-timing home an Ava Beckford ‘23 cross. The second goal was similar, with Parker Perillo ‘26 getting on the end of a service from Schuyler Groves ‘26. The lead increased to three in the 20th minute, as Colby Smith ‘25 got a shot off after winning the ball just inside of the box, and Alice Tao ‘23 stuffed it home just before it crossed the line. Haimes closed out the first half scoring, taking a couple of dribbles just outside of the box before unleashing a great shot into the upper 90. The Martlets would add two more in the second half. Lexi Willis ‘26 fed Piper Lundin ‘26 at the far post for a pretty goal in the 50th minute. Ava Beckford ‘23 made a great individual effort, dribbling past two defenders and then beating the onrushing goalkeeper for a brave finish. Shout outs go to Lundin and Peyton Harding ‘24 for good work at outside midfield and to Remy Morello ‘25 for inspired defending. The girls will now look to measure their improvement since the opening scrimmage when they travel to Loomis on Saturday.
