Martlets Fall to Pomfret

The team marked its upward progression with a determined goal from Daniel Olaosebikan ‘26, who once again drove the team forward with his tenacious running and close control. Westminster started with confidence to play their passing game and were duly rewarded with a first goal of the season. Daniel Olaosebikan found himself one on one with the Pomfret keeper after chasing a long ball and slotted calmly past him. Mark Yang ‘26 was industrious and deft in equal measure, rarely shying away from a challenge or trying to find an incisive pass. Mark typified an elevated performance from the team as a whole. Jake Andreski ‘25 and Jeffrey Niu ‘26 both played in foreign positions today, but with great spirit and dedication to the cause. Jake doesn’t understand the concept of a lost cause and he never stops running for the team. Jeffrey has tried almost every position on the field now and made each one work. He is still learning the game but there is a bright future ahead of him. The game itself was tied until the final few minutes, but the finish is getting closer each time. The team should learn a great deal from this, we certainly have new things to work on in practice.
