Martlets Fall to Choate

It would be another wild game on Wilbraham field today. Over the last few years games between Choate and Westminster have always been tight, today would not disappoint the large crowd on hand for grandparents day at Westminster. The first half seemed pretty normal with both teams exchanging some good opportunities. Heading into halftime the score would be locked 0-0. The game would not see a score until the 60th min when Choate would get on the board off a Westminster turnover and then poor clearance. Choate would then go up 2-0 9 mins later off a nice combination play just outside the 18 yard box. Westminster would dig deep and make some luck of their own in the 78th min when Lawrence Taylor ‘23 would convert on a PK off some nice hustle in the box by Gabe Mays-Sanchez ‘23. The Martlets would push to try to tie up the score but would open up the field for Choate to make the score 3-1. Things got very interesting when Abraham Monsee ‘25 would have tremendous poise just outside the 18 yard box to go side netting with just four minutes left in the match. Westminster would have a chance with 5 seconds to go to tie the score up but would be turned aside. In net for the Martlets Parker Sinclair ‘23 would have a very solid day with 8 saves. The team wrench would be passed to Theo Massie-Vereker ‘23 for his hard work and hustle on the back line.
