Boys Run Well at Canterbury

A breezy and crisp morning greeted us at Canterbury this week for a varsity-only race. We had six fearless runners take on the Division 1 race with some exciting finish times, excellent sportsmanship, and lots of positive energy. Captains Jay Henry ‘23 and Sam Bradley ‘23, both returning from recent illness, led the pack with Jay pulling ahead by a narrow five-second margin as they worked together in the finish area. Bradley notably took eleven seconds off his 2021 time on the same course, well done! Jakub McKinney ‘23 and James O’Connell ‘25 also worked as a pair, steady and controlled throughout the entire race and showing exceptional resolve as they bounded up the two mile hill. McKinney leaves today’s race boasting a full minute and a half course improvement since last fall, incredible! Last but certainly not least was Rhys Marshcke ‘24 and Steven Chun ‘25, our up-and-coming dynamic duo, who ceaselessly impress with their 25+ second PR’s since last week’s race. At this rate, these two runners will be flying over the finish line by season’s end. Next week is a big one….the 15th annual Richard Miller Invitational at home! The boys are eager to have our JV squad back in the mix and welcome nearly a dozen schools onto campus to compete on our course.
