Martlets Fall to Taft

The JV Boys Soccer team succumbed to an energetic Taft team on a sunny Wednesday afternoon. Alex Wood ‘25 played bravely in goal, throwing himself at the feet of oncoming attackers and reacting smartly to shots. There is an energetic elegance to Alex’s style, and he rarely emerges from a scramble without the ball. Auggie Barret ‘24 once again showed himself to be the consummate team player. Auggie is never afraid of a challenge, but it is his smart distribution that helps the team so much. Auggie is naturally calm on the ball, and determined off it. Daniel Olaosebikan’26 is tenacious in his play, never giving up on a lost ball and standing strong in his challenges. Daniel always learns something new in practice and applies it to the next contest, highlighting the intelligence in his game. The team continues to grow together and learn from difficult games like today. Suffield Academy on Saturday will provide the team another chance to learn and grow again.
