New Varsity Swimming and Diving Coach Announced for 2022

Siobhan Dale has been named the new head coach for swimming and diving — both the boys’ and girls’ teams — for the 2022-2023 season.

Siobhan graduated from Edwin O. Smith High School in 2015. As a high school swimmer Siobhan won four individual CIAC class titles and three individual CIAC state open championship titles. She set and currently holds the class M state record in the 50-yard freestyle and is a three-time high school All-American. During her senior year Siobhan was the captain of the swim team and was a member of the Girls’ Varsity basketball team, which won the CCC conference championship.

Upon graduation from Edwin O. Smith Siobhan attended Fordham University to study English and swam on the Division I swim team. In 2017 she transferred to the University of Connecticut where she continued her pursuit of English and swam for two years on the club swim team. While on the club swim team Siobhan set and currently still holds five team records.

She served two seasons as the East Hartford High School Varsity swim team coach. During the fall and winter season every athlete on the EHHS swim team achieved lifetime personal best times. In addition, she served two seasons as the Assistant Age Group coach at Laurel East Hartford YMCA where she has helped coach multiple high-school athletes who will continue swimming at the college level.

During the spring seasons she worked as an assistant track coach at Edwin O. Smith High School.

In December 2021 Siobhan received her M.F.A. in creative writing from The New School. In addition to her coaching responsibilities, Siobhan will teach English.
