Martlets Fall to Choate

The girls faced another strong squad, and could find little traction against the Boars from Choate, who won 7-0. The match scores were all 3-0, but all of the Martlets had encouraging moments. Nicole Smith ‘23 flashed some great boast winners at no. 1. Shelby Oken ‘22 showed improved volleying at no. 2. Margaret Dilks ‘24 hit her most precise shots of the year at no. 3. Wheatley Sutro ‘22 came the closest to winning a game (8-11 in the first) at no. 4. Elise Strawbridge ‘22 made hay by taking the ball early at no. 5. Chandler Green ‘23 showed the most progress mid-match, winning 7 and 6 points after an 11-0 first game at no. 6. Sofia Daniele ‘22 showed improvement in her short game at no. 7. And Alice Tao ‘24 won the most points overall (7, 3, 6) in the exhibition (no. 8) match.
