Martlets Fall to AOF

The Winged Beavers traveled up Route 10 to face off against the Martlets in our home Nest.  The first half was fairly evenly matched, with Westminster trailing Avon Old Farms by 9 at the end of the first half.  The Martlets came out strong in the second half, outsourcing the visiting Winged Beavers in the second half 25-23, but could not overcome the 9 point halftime deficit.  This was the Martlets best and most complete game to date, as all players contributed towards the bottom line with timely rebounds, great defense, or efficient scoring.  Leading the way for the Martlets in scoring was Cayden Darnowski ‘25 with 10 points, while Eli Faro ‘25 drove the lane for 9 points.  JY Bak ‘22 made his first appearance of the season and contributed 7 points, while Alex Chen ‘24 also added 7 points.  Jack Sheldon ‘24 played great defense on AOF’s top scorer and also contributed 5 points.  Wyck Deery ‘24 added two points and Lance Dominick ‘25 concluded scoring with a point and some great defense and rebounding.  The Martlets will be home again on Saturday as the Wild Boars travel up I-91 to visit Westminster.  We hope to see many of you in the stands.
