Martlets Fall to NW Catholic

Following a week off from gameplay, the Martlets made the short trek north to ISCC-Simsbury to play the junior varsity team from Northwest Catholic. Westminster knew they would have their hands full with the always well-coached Lions. Despite the final score and the absence of a few players, the Martlets played one of their better team games of the season. They kept things simple in all three zones, playing solid fundamental hockey. Goal scorers on the afternoon were Ryan Jainchill ‘23, Ethan Cramer ‘23, and Nick Wurts ‘24. Assisting on each goal, respectively, were Niclas Swahn ‘22, Zac Jainchill ‘25, and Jake Timone ‘25. The Martlets generated several additional scoring opportunities throughout the game, but the Lions goaltender proved to be the difference-maker in the end. Westminster returns to action this Friday afternoon at Jackson Rink versus Upland Country Day School.
