Martlets Can't Pull Off the Upset

In the first round of the High School Nationals Division 2 tournament, the 14th seeded Martlets fell to third-seeded Nichols 5-2. The girls did themselves proud, as in addition to the two match wins (by Kaylee Hunt '20 at No. 2 (9, 5, 6) and Lauren Way '20 at No. 6 (7, 7, (8), 8), three other Martlets took their opponents to four games – Eve Cathcart '20 at No. 7, Clara Ekholm '20 at No. 5 and Nicole Smith '23 at No. 4. Despite the loss, the girls' performances set a great tone for a competitive weekend.
