Martlets Head to Avon for Rematch

Third Boys’ Basketball played Avon’s Thirds team on the Winged Beaver’s turf, hoping to earn another win and secure the season sweep of Avon. To that end, the Martlets came out of the gate playing strong on defense to stop Avon from making big plays. Several big play makers picked off or stole the ball as the team fought to defend the basket, including Sam Bradley ’23 and Lawrence Taylor ’23 both of whom used their maneuverability to make crucial steals. Leading points were scored by Lucas Wahlberg ’21 and Parker Sinclair ’23. Both provided strong showings; Wahlberg earned the most free throws and two pointers while consistently getting rebounds on offense, while Sinclair was a threat from the outside, sinking two perfect 3-pointers. As the team’s lead widened, the Martlets began shorter rotations to give everyone more opportunities to shine, and finished up with their second win of the season at 36-21.
