Less than Stellar Shooting

In the first live-game action in 18 days, Westminster fell to the Kent Lions 41-36. The team started off pretty sleepily and found itself down 12-5 at the end of the first. Kent never pulled away, but Westminster also never closed the gap to less than four for the entire game. Westminster had a few too many bad turnovers, but mostly the team just shot poorly and allowed Kent too many easy shots and second-chance baskets. Co-captain Bella Tawney ’22 led the way with 13 points and 19 rebounds. Eliza Roach ‘21, in her first game back from a shoulder injury a month ago, dropped eight points and five assists. Sam de Kanter ’22 grabbed 12 rebounds, and Margaret Kennedy ’22 and co-captain Bethany Winters ’20 combined for 13 points.
