Boys Show Depth in Win Over Kent

Newcomers continued to make their presence known at Kent Saturday as the team jumped out to an early lead with a 1-2 finish in the 200 medley relay, won by the team of co-captain Hudson Stedman ’21, Eddie Shin ’21, Justin Shi ’21 and Layton Harmon ’21. Max Larock ’22 added a win in the 200 free, and Stedman, J-C Lane ’21 and Mason Zottola ’23 placed 1-2-3, respectively, in the 200 IM. Harmon won the 50 free with Shin in third, and Leo Kolomeiskii ’21 and Al Beisenov ’22 took second and third in the diving. Harmon, Shi and co-captain Daniel Pinckney ’20 swept the top three spots in the 100 fly, Harmon with a lifetime best time. Owen Huang ’23 won the 100 free with his personal best, with Alvin Zhang ’23 in third, and Stedman took second in the 500 free with his best time. Huang, Shin, Zhang and Larock teamed up for a victory in the 200 freestyle relay with their top time this season, and Larock and Zottola went 1-2 in the 100 back, Zottola with a best time. Shin and Zhang put up the two fastest times in the 100 breaststroke, and Huang, Stedman, Harmon and Larock won the 400 freestyle relay to end the meet. The boys looked crisp after a week of difficult workouts and will continue to put the hay in the barn as they prepare for the Hibbard Invitational next Saturday at home.
