Off to a Strong Start

Playing in its first game of the year, Second Girls’ Hockey travelled to face perennial rival Deerfield Academy. Tied until midway through the first period, the girls poured it on, controlling play and putting together several nice passing plays to score several rebound and close-range goals against an outmatched Deerfield defense. Susie Mahoney '20 and Dylan Bloom '23 led the way on the offensive end with two goals and two assists apiece as all skaters got plenty of ice time. Defensively, Tatum Courtmanche '21 was stellar in net, and Mary Dutton '20, Caroline McDermott '20 and Mckenzie Bloom '23 controlled play expertly to stymie several Deerfield rushes. Other scorers included: Lily Marvin '22, Claire Taylor '21, Molly Rubin '22 and Ellie Cramer '22.
