Poet Norah Pollard to Give Dec. 6 Reading
Connecticut poet Norah Pollard, daughter of famed racehorse jockey Red Pollard, will give a reading at Westminster School Dec. 6 as part of the school’s Friday Nights at Westminster series. The student reader will be Izzy Bailey ’21 and the faculty reader will be English teacher Terence McCaffrey.
Pollard is the author of five poetry collections: “Leaning In,” “Report From the Banana Hospital,” “Death & Rapture in the Animal Kingdom,” “In Deep” and “Lizard Season.” She has received the Academy of American Poets Prize from the University of Bridgeport, and for several years edited “The Connecticut River Review.” This is her second appearance at Westminster as a reader.
Pollard’s reading is free and open to the public, and will begin at 7 p.m. in the Gund Reading Room of Armour Academic Center. Ample parking will be available in the parking lot adjacent to Armour Academic Center.
The Friday Nights at Westminster series is made possible by generous grants from the Ford-Goldfarb English Department Enrichment Fund, the McKinley Fund and the Connell Fund.
