Outstanding Win vs. a Strong DA

Deerfield started extremely quickly, running the game for the first 10 minutes and almost scoring from open play and corners. Westminster found its grit and really pushed back hard before steadily taking the game away and maintaining the ball and the field for much of the remainder. The Martlets scored three from nicely worked corners and never gave up pushing and fighting for every ball. This was a superb win against a very strong DA team. Stand out performances from Sam DeLeo ’21 on the left wing gave Westminster some real momentum, and rock solid defense from Abby Munger '20, as well as 10 big saves from Karen Newton '20, kept a tight ship at the back. Goals first half: Sam DeLeo '21 (1), assists first half: Claire Taylor '21 (1). Goals second half: Mckenzie Bloom '23 (1), DeLeo (1), Bennett Ghriskey '22 (1), assists second half: Casey Winslow '21 (1).
