Earth Day Artworks On Display at Bradley International Airport

This month, portions of Westminster’s 2019 Earth Day exhibits went on display until March at Bradley International Airport, showcasing the work of about 75 members of the school community.

A plastic bottle cap mural and numerous other pieces of student artwork are currently on exhibit by door No. 6 on the second level by departures and the ticket counters for Spirit Airlines. The exhibit is a salute to the forthcoming 50th anniversary of Earth Day in April 2020.

Last April, following a schoolwide collection of bottle caps and learning about single-use plastics and the effects they have on the planet, especially oceans, a Plastic Ocean Exhibit was displayed for Earth Day April 22 in the Chapel Gallery, featuring a plastic bottle cap mural. Simultaneously, Fearn Hall featured an exhibition of student artwork from numerous art classes about Earth appreciation, endangered species and climate change.

Westminster art teacher Kerry Kendall made arrangements for the exhibit at the airport, and architecture teacher Rebeccah Tuscano-Moss helped with the installation.
