First Defeat of the Season

On a beautiful sunny day, but with blustery winds, First Boys' Golf traveled to Suffield Country Club for the Third Annual Suffield Invitational. The boys played a solid round of 313 (5 count 4 format) to finish in second place in the 10-team field. The final team results were AOF (304), Westminster (313), NMH (325), Suffield (327), Pomfret (337), Williston (338), Choate (342), Wilbraham & Monson (352), Gunnery (354) and South Kent (374). Peyton Knauf '19 led the way for the Martlets with an impressive score of 75 (+3), which left him in a four-way tie for match medalist. Other Westminster scores included Justin Flaks '20 (79), Bennett Ostern '21 (79), Ned Blanchard '20 (80) and Peter Sanger '21 (91). Although the team suffered its first defeat of the season, this strong finish leaves the squad with a current record of 19-1.
