Martlets Fall to Winged Beavers, Top Pelicans

On a beautiful day for golf at Hop Meadow Country Club, the Seconds hosted Founders League rivals Avon Old Farms and Loomis Chaffee. Led by medalist Carson Roth '19 with a 38, the Martlets posted a disappointing 215 total score. The talented Avon side was four strokes better at 211 and bested the home team in a tight match. The Black and Gold defeated Loomis for the second time this season, as the visitors from Windsor came in at 245. Other Martlet scorers were Newt Cutler '22 and Darion Benchich '20, both with 43s, David Harris '21 with a 44, and Vincent van Nordeck '21 and Will Scott '20 with 47s. The team will get back to work tomorrow as it prepares to host Kingswood Oxford on Saturday.
