Martlets Hold On for Win
Second Girls' Lacrosse traveled to the far corner of Connecticut to take on the Griffins of Pomfret. The Griffins scored two quick goals before the Martlets began to control the play in the midfield. Celia Sotirhos '21 got the scoring started for the Martlets as she buried a nice feed from Halli Keenan '21. Lucy Jones '21 evened the score off a free position shot. The Martlet offense was beginning to find its footing. The Martlets and Griffins traded goals until halftime as Olivia Goldstuck '21 and Wheatley Sutro '22 each scored. After a quick halftime regroup, the Martlets controlled most of the second half and pulled ahead with goals from Keenan and Lauren Valenti '22. The Griffins pulled within one goal late in the game but couldn't tie it up as the clock ran out. The Martlets look forward to a home game on Wednesday.
