Martlets Falter Against Rival Avon

The Martlets rolled down the street to Avon to take on their rival on a cold and cloudy Friday afternoon. Westminster, playing without five players due to illness, started out slow and was unable to recover. Walker Jones ‘20 was able to put in a goal before halftime, but the Martlets were unable to overcome several mental mistakes in the second half. Before it was over, Matthew Westlake ‘22 and Jones had put two more goals in the net, but the team could not rebound. Remaining short-handed, the Martlets turn their attention to visiting Taft the next day and look to grind out a win at home.
