Sixth Former Named Finalist in National Merit Scholarship Program

Sixth Former Emmett de Kanter has advanced to Finalist standing in the 2019 National Merit Scholarship Program by demonstrating through distinguished performance high potential for future academic accomplishment.
 
He is among approximately 15,000 Finalists competing for some 7,500 National Merit Scholarships awards that will be announced beginning in April and concluding in July.
 
Emmett is a day student from Simsbury who has taken a rigorous course of study and earned high honors during his Westminster career. He serves as junior prefect, is co-head of Global Forum and is the recipient of the Wilbraham Bowl. He holds the school record for the 5K and 3K in cross country and track, and is the captain of the cross country, swimming and track teams. He plans to attend Harvard in the fall.
