Thirds Narrowly Misses First Win of the Year

While the team is disappointed in missing out what was its best opportunity for its first win on the season, the team has to be happy to get a point in the standings. Going up 1-0 in the first with a great individual effort by Willie Noble '20, his first of the day, gave new life to his teammates, who spent most of the day in their own end. His second of the day came minutes later with some nifty puck work to lift it above the Avon netminder’s pad on the backhand. After this, however, the momentum dulled, and after several strong stops by Rich Mugler '22, the Avon team found the net early in the third and again with only a few minutes left in regulation. The boys played overtime out in a disappointing tie. Ben Ferrell '21, Beck Winsor '21, Owen Murphy '22 and goalie Mugler are worthy to be mentioned for their strong effort throughout. Next up, Berkshire on Saturday.
