Rough Start

After an awful start (Westminster literally turned the ball over on its first five possessions), the team clawed its way back to within two before a late Kent run put Westminster down 27-20 at halftime. The Martlets played well initially in the first part of the second half and got within three a few times, but ultimately too many turnovers and too many made jumpers by the host Lions spelled defeat for Westminster. Bethany Winters '20 led the team in scoring, captain Laynie Tawney '19 had her career-high in scoring, and Margaret Kennedy '22 and Bella Tawney '22 had eight points each while Tawney added 16 rebounds and five blocked shots.
