This position will support the mission of Westminster School's Advancement Office to welcome and engage the extended community in support of the values of the School and to advance the mission of Westminster, by being responsible for developing and enriching the philanthropic relationship of major gift prospects towards Westminster School.
In conjunction with the Director of Advancement, the Associate Director of Leadership Gifts will actively manage the School's philanthropic relationship with approximately 150 potential major gift donors by:
- Identifying, qualifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding current and potential donors capable of making gifts larger than $50,000
- Traveling frequently to off-campus locations for meetings and events
- Completing between 15-20 prospect meetings each month
- Working with other fundraising staff and volunteers to coordinate annual, reunion, capital and planned giving strategies for major gift prospects
- Maintaining prospect management through discovery and contact reports, and moving prospects through a documented moves management system.
In addition, he or she will strategically plan the development of giving opportunities, which will generate interest and financial commitment, for donors and potential donors by:
- Working with Advancement Office staff to identify prospects capable of supporting the current comprehensive campaign.
- Identifying and coordinating strategies for partnership with the School's senior staff and trustees to participate in the cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of major gifts
- Performing duties as a faculty member within the Advancement Office and Westminster School
- Attending donor and volunteer gatherings, phonathons, reunions and class fundraising meetings.
A bachelor’s degree and two years of fundraising experience is required. Experience in educational settings and familiarity with Raiser’s Edge is preferred.
