Martlets Secure 54-46 Win

In front of a capacity crowd, Second Boys' Basketball put together a complete game to finally enter the win column. Hillside jumped out to a small lead only to see it fade as the Martlets chipped away one possession at a time. By the half, Westminster led 22-19, a strong showing given that multiple Martlets found themselves in early foul trouble. The second half was all Westminster. Despite some trouble stopping Hillside's star player, the home team played sound, scrappy defense and turnover-free offense. Eddie Lie-A-Cheong '19 had his best offensive game of the season, leading all scorers with 23 points. Teddy Schellbach '20 added 11 points and eight rebounds. Henry Mitrano '19, Lukas Dudzik '19 and Will Lynch '20 also crashed the boards with eight, eight and six rebounds apiece. Kevin Kuang '19 clogged the paint on defense, making it difficult for lengthy Hillside to get second- and third-chance opportunities. The Martlets host Loomis Chaffee on Wednesday.
