Girls Stay on a Roll

First Girls’ Squash added another win Jan. 14 — 6-1 — against its crosstown rivals. Five of the contests were decided in three games. The most dominant performance among those was turned in by Kaylee Hunt '20 at No. 2 (3, 2, 1); the closest of the three-gamers was won at No. 3 by Ellie Bailey '21 (9, 8, 10); the other three were all earned by girls playing up two places on the ladder — Rebecca Sargent '20 (4, 4, 5 at No. 4), Georgia Swank '19 (3, 6, 6 at No. 5) and Annabel Bradley '19 (7, 8, 8 at No. 7). Eve Cathcart ’20 prevailed in four games at No. 6 after letting a close second game get away from her (6, (13), 7, 9). By far the most entertaining match of the day was played by Valeria Osorio Garcia '19 at No. 1. She and her opponent both covered the court well and displayed some great shooting. In the end, the home crowd may have provided the slight edge as Garcia fell just short (9, (9), (3), 8, 8). The girls will look forward to a tri-match with Berkshire and Pomfret on Wednesday.
