In a very competitive match, the Martlets lost to the Winged Beavers of Avon 2-6. Three of the losses (at Nos. 3, 5 and 6) went to five games. Had those contests gone the other way, Westminster would have won the match 5-3. Nonetheless, coach Michael Cervas was pleased with the way his players fought hard for every point up and down the ladder. Peter Miller '22 at No. 2 and Nate Chaves '19 at No. 8 were the only Martlets to win matches, but all the boys competed hard. Chaves was down 7-10 in the fourth game before winning five points in a row to claim victory in his match. Miller has been playing outstanding squash recently, and he and Chaves share the nail for this match. The team is home against Pomfret on Wednesday.
