Martlets Open With Tough Loss

Second Boys' Basketball opened its 2018-19 season against an experienced, athletic team from Eaglebrook. The first few minutes of the game see-sawed back and forth until the Eagles pulled away with an aggressive three-quarter trap, as well as a potent inside-out game in their half-court sets, ultimately building a 20-point lead heading into halftime. The Martlets took better care of the ball in the second half but just couldn't find the net from outside. Despite the latter, they moved the ball well during the last 10 minutes of the game, creating their scoring opportunities with their dribble penetration. Lukas Dudzik '19 put together a string of steals and layups as he, Cooper Kistler '22 and Raymond Liu '22 worked well off of each other. Dudzik led the Martlets' overall scoring. Will Lynch '20 and Kevin Kuang '19 played strong, aggressive ball in the front court. Westminster looks forward to another opportunity tomorrow when it hosts Kingswood Oxford.
