Liviu Pop & Friends to Give Nov. 2 Performance
Liviu Pop & Friends will perform at Westminster Nov. 2 as part of the school’s Friday Nights at Westminster series of concerts and readings held during the academic year.
Liviu Pop is a Hartford-based drummer who is known for his versatility in music styles and captivating soulfulness during his performances. He has played and toured with some of the best national and international artists in the blues and soul music arena. For this show, Pop brings with him blues and soul Boston singer Diane Blue, guitarist and singer Neal Vitullo, and bassist and vocalist Steve Bigelow. This rare lineup of artists promises an intense performance of fiery swing blues numbers, grooving soul beats and some sensible ballads in a repertoire comprised of original songs and some classics of the genre.
The performance by Liviu Pop & Friends is free and open to the public and will begin at 7 p.m. in the Gund Reading Room of Armour Academic Center. Ample parking will be available in the parking lot adjacent to Armour Academic Center.
The event is made possible by generous grants from the Ford-Goldfarb English Department Enrichment Fund and the McKinley Fund.
