Martlets Fall to DA

The Martlets traveled to Deerfield on a rainy Saturday afternoon. After going scoreless in the first quarter, the Martlets trailed 6-0. Chase Hager ‘26 scored Westy’s first goal of the day off an assist from Caroline Callen ‘26 in the second. Deerfield would answer with a goal, bringing the score to 7-1 at half. Although Deerfield managed two goals at the beginning of the third quarter, Caroline Callen (assisted by Piper Lundin ‘26) and Piper Lundin (assisted by Caroline Callen) responded with two goals of their own. Piper Lundin opened the fourth with what would be the final Westminster goal of the game. Liesel Kocourek ‘27 had a stellar game in net and made 9 excellent saves. Strong defense from Caroline Breslav ‘26 and Annie Fertita ‘28 kept the game competitive. However, Deerfield extended their lead by 3 in the final minutes of the fourth, resulting in a 12-4 loss for Westy.
