Martlets Shutout by Berkshire

The Westminster boys held their own for long periods against a still undefeated Berkshire JV. The team worked well together to absorb heavy pressure and emerged from the first half one goal down but hopeful for the the second half. An early and late goal in the second half brought the score to 3-0 but the boys should be proud of their efforts. Auggie Barret ‘24 ran his socks off this afternoon and continues to win every foot race. Auggie is the heart of a hard working defense, and has matured into his leadership role over the course of the season. Mark Yang ‘26 put in a battling performance in the midfield and remained engaged throughout the game. This was a big performance from Mark, who had far more defensive opportunities than offensive, but he made each chance count and kept driving the team forward. Daniel Edwards ‘24 was impeccably calm and composed in his defensive duties. Daniel is supremely clinical in the challenge, often picking the ball off the toe of his opponent and effortlessly gliding away. Daniel has added resilience to his game and is wonderfully frustrating to play against. The team showed great spirit and unity and will be looking for a result against Kent on Wednesday.
