Parents & Family Weekend

Dear Westminster Families,

Now that the school year is well underway, I extend a warm invitation to return to campus in October for Parents & Family Weekend.

Parents & Family Weekend offers you an opportunity to meet with classroom teachers, enjoy time with parents and faculty, and attend performing and visual arts programming and athletic contests.

Chris and I are excited for what promises to be an informative, exciting and fun weekend on campus. We hope that you will make every effort to attend our Form Receptions scheduled for Friday evening since these events offer a wonderful opportunity to meet informally with other parents and faculty.

We look forward to welcoming you to campus.

Elaine B. White
Head of School

If you have questions about the weekend, please contact Thea Leach P’11, ’13, Director of Advancement Programs & Events, at (860) 408-3724 or tleach@westminster-school.org

Important things to remember:
  • Westminster School is offering both In-Person and Virtual Conferences this year. However we request that Friday be reserved for in-person conferences only, virtual appointments may be scheduled on Thursday and Saturday. Be sure to select one of those options when scheduling your conferences.
  • The system will only allow you to sign up for one slot per teacher so other parents have the opportunity to meet with that teacher.
  • If you would like to schedule an appointment with your student’s advisor or college counselor, please contact them directly.
  • Be sure to leave transition time between appointments for travel between classrooms or buildings.
Please contact Audra Harris (860-408-3046) with any questions.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, in fact, parents will have ten-minute sessions with each of their child’s teachers. Conference times are available Thursday evening, Friday afternoon and Saturday morning.

Will I meet my child’s advisor during the weekend?
We do not have time set aside specifically for advisor meetings. However, if you wish to meet with the advisor, your child should arrange a time for you to meet.

What is the Book Sale?
During Parents Weekend, the library hosts a book sale where parents may buy books for the library. Making a purchase allows parents to honor and recognize their children and others by having a book plate inscribed in the book that is purchased. Parents often purchase books of interest to their child, books on a topic of their own interest, or books to honor or support a teacher or class.
