Will I meet my child’s teachers during Parents Weekend?
Yes, in fact, parents will have ten-minute sessions with each of their child’s teachers. Conference times are available Thursday evening (primarily for day student parents), Friday afternoon and Saturday morning.
Will I meet my child’s advisor during the weekend?
We do not have time set aside specifically for advisor meetings. However, if you wish to meet with the advisor, your child should arrange a time for you to meet.
What is the Book Sale?
For each Parents Weekend, the library hosts a book sale where parents may buy books for the library. Making a purchase allows parents to honor and recognize their children and others by having a book plate inscribed in the book that is purchased. Parents often purchase books of interest to their son/daughter, books on a topic of their own interest, or books to honor or support a teacher or class.
Are there athletic contests on campus Saturday afternoon?
Yes, please check the Athletics schedule for times and locations.
May I take my child out to dinner?
Yes, students are permitted to have dinner off campus with their parents on Friday evening.
What is the parent reception?
We host a reception at Pratt House (the Headmaster's house) for the parents to have a chance to meet other parents and faculty between conferences.
May I visit classes during the weekend?
Parents do not attend classes during this weekend. We have planned “Class Visit Day for Parents” for January 17-18, 2020, during which time parents can attend classes and experience the academic day.
Can students stay on campus for the long weekend?
No, school will close for faculty and students following their afternoon commitment Saturday. Boarding students are due back on their corridors Tuesday evening, Oct. 29, by 9 p.m. Classes resume Wednesday morning, Oct. 30.
