Frequently Asked Questions

Who may attend? Two guests per family may attend the Sunday, May 16 Commencement Ceremony using the provided tickets. Safety protocols that include mask wearing and social distancing will be in place on campus for everyone attending or participating in the event. The ceremony will be held rain or shine. There will not be a tent, due to required social distancing of family groups and the visual obstructions a tent would create for those seated outside of it.

May we request extra announcements? Contact Diana Evans, Assistant to the Head of School at 860-408-3012 or devans@westminster-school.org.

When should we arrive? The Commencement Ceremony begins promptly at 10 a.m. on May 16. Please arrive no earlier than 8 a.m., and no later than 9:30 a.m. for ample time to park and find your seats.

What is the dress code for graduates?
Girls - white summer dress, white footwear
Boys - suit, white shirt, tie, proper footwear (formal navy blazer, dark dress slacks would also be appropriate)

Where should we have lunch on Sunday? After the ceremony, boxed lunches will be provided outside your graduate’s residence hall. Day student families may pick up boxed lunches outside Pettee Gymnasium on Baxter Lawn.

Will photographs be taken of each student? Highpoint Pictures will be taking candid and formal photos throughout Sunday morning.
