Core Values
Westminster’s core values promote a commitment and dedication to personal behavior by emphasizing the importance of building community, developing character, finding balance and encouraging involvement.
The academic program at Westminster is comprehensive, balancced and challenging. Course offerings include: 22 AP courses, 9 English courses, 11 history courses, 29 language courses, 16 math courses, 12 science courses, 22 arts courses, and independent study opportunities. This breadth and depth of offerings allows students to both explore new subjects and develop passions.
With 95 faculty members 61 percent hold advanced degrees, 69 live on campus, 10 are alumni, and 18 have served Westminster for more than 20 years.
Comfortable Size
With 398 students, a 5:1 student/teacher ratio, and an average class size of 12, Westminster is a place where students have the opportunity and support to succeed.
The Westminster community is made up of students from 22 states and 30 countries. U.S. students of color make up 21 percent of the student population and 15 percent are international students.
College Counseling
In recent years, approximately 65 percent of our students gained admission to colleges and universities ranked as “Most Competitive” by Barron’s Profiles of American Colleges, and approximately 90 percent gained admission to colleges and universities ranked as “Most or Highly Competitive.”
Westminster opened a new dining hall, a new student and faculty residence, and two new carriage houses at the beginning of the 2017-18 academic year. The Brockelman student center opened in January 2018. Like other recent new facilities on campus, the new buildings are heated and cooled using geothermal energy and feature Energy Star-rated appliances, equipment and light fixtures. Armour Academic Center is LEED gold certified.
Founded in 1888, Westminster moved to its current 200-acre Williams Hill location in 1900. The campus is within walking distance of historic downtown Simsbury with many restaurants, coffee shops and stores.

Westminster School is a private, coeducational boarding and day school for students in grades 9-12 and Postgraduate, located in Simsbury, Connecticut. The suburban New England campus is midway between New York City and Boston.
