  • Step 1: Submit Online Inquiry

    Completing an online inquiry generates an email, giving you a username and the ability to create a password for Martlet onBoad, your personalized admission portal, from which you can access and check the status of your online application.

  • Step 2: Schedule a Tour & Interview

    • A visit to Westminster's campus is an essential part of the application process. Your visit includes a personal tour with a student guide followed by an interview with a member of the Admission committee. However, if circumstances prevent your traveling to campus, a Skype or phone interview can be arranged.

  • Step 3: Complete the Application

    Candidates for admission to Westminster should apply online using the Standard Application Online or Gateway to Prep Schools application. The completed application is due by January 15 to ensure a March 10 decision and is comprised of three parts:
      • Biographic Information
      • Application Fee - ($75 Domestic, $150 International)
      • Standardized Tests
        SSAT required for grades 9 and 10
        PSAT, SAT, ACT, or SSAT for grades 11, 12, and the PG year
        TOEFL for candidates for whom English is not their first language
      • Graded Writing Sample
      • Student Essays/Candidate Statement
      • Parent Statement
      • Recommendations – submitted online by current teachers
        School Administrator Recommendation – required
        English Teacher Recommendation – required
        Math Teacher Recommendation – required
        Personal Recommendation – optional
        Special Interest Recommendation – optional
      • Transcript – submitted directly by school
        Current Fall term or semester grades

  • Sign up for Standard Testing

    Westminster School requires the Secondary School Admissions Test (SSAT) for all applicants entering the Third and Fourth Forms (9th and 10th grades). Westminster’s SSAT code is 8134. October, November, December and January are the preferred test dates for the SSAT; please be aware of registration deadlines and register well ahead for your test date and site.
     
    Westminster requires the PSAT, SAT or ACT for those entering the Fifth or Sixth Forms (11th, 12th grade or postgraduate year).
     
    For applicants whose first language is not English, Westminster requires the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL).
    Westminster’s TOEFL code is 8486.

    TESTING
     
    Secondary School Admission Test: SSAT www.ssat.org
    Westminster requires the SSAT for applicants for the third and fourth forms (ninth and tenth grades). The SSAT Web site offers information for test registration, test sites, etc.
     
    College Board Testing PSAT and SAT www.collegeboard.com
    Westminster requires PSAT or SAT testing for applicants for the fifth form (eleventh grade) or postgraduate year. This Web Site offers information for test registration, sites, and other links.
     
    Test of English as a Foreign Language: TOEFL www.ets.org/TOEFL
    Along with the SSAT, PSAT or SAT, Westminster requires the TOEFL for all international applicants who have English as their second language. The TOEFL Web site offers information for test registration, sites and test preparation.
  • Financial Aid

    Applicants seeking financial aid must complete the Parent Financial Statement (PFS) online at sssbynais.org/parents or submit a paper version to School and Student Services (SSS). Please see the Financial Aid section of our web site for more information.
