About WISE

The WISE program (Westminster Interactive Summer Experience) offers an exciting array of online courses for middle and high school students. From the study of mythology, to poetry and algebra, from politics and genetics, to Chinese language and AP history, the courses are designed to prepare students for the coming school year as well as stimulate their curiosity and develop study skills that will help them in all their future academic pursuits.

The Westminster faculty offers a slate of tutorial-style, non-credit courses during two separate two-week sessions each summer. Students will engage directly with faculty each day for an hour and will receive feedback on their independent work, with an overarching goal of improving their critical reading, writing and verbal skills. In many instances, the courses can provide a preview of the coming year or prepare for a specific standardized test or essay. Class meetings take place online. The daily online meeting times will have flexibility, and class teachers may provide a range of meeting times to help with planning.

Below is the course catalog from summer 2016. As soon as courses and dates are determined for 2017, this site will be updated with that information.
