Westminster Co-Hosts National High School Squash Championships

Westminster hosted the 2015 National High School Team Squash Championships Feb. 5-7. The tournament, held in Philadelphia in 2014, seeded 104 boys’ teams and 64 girls’ teams from around the United States at various locations in Greater Hartford, including Trinity College, Avon Old Farms School, Wesleyan University and Loomis Chaffee School.

While Westminster students were away for a long weekend, the school drew large crowds for the matches, which started at noon on Friday. At any one point, eight teams were competing in the Kohn Squash Pavilion.

"We’re excited and honored to be co-hosting this large event,” said Peter Doucette, head coach of Westminster’s First Boys’ Squash team. The Martlet boys competed in the third division and finished with a record of 2-2.
