Martlet Field Hockey Alumnae Earn Honors

Three Martlet alumnae, Kelcie Finn ’14, Rachel Kennedy ’12 and Mallory Mason ’11, garnered league honors for their stellar field hockey play this fall. Their former coach at Westminster, Colleen Joncas, couldn’t be more pleased, remarking, “It is very exciting to see former Martlets producing at the next level. There is no doubt that the success of these athletes serves to motivate and inspire our current players, several of whom plan to take their game beyond Westminster and play in college as well.”

Kelcie Finn ’14, a freshman at Trinity College, was named New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Rookie of the Year on Nov. 17. Finn was named NESCAC Player of the Week twice this fall and she finished second in the league, behind fellow Martlet Rachel Kennedy, in goals scored (27), assists (10), and overall points (64). Rachel Kennedy ’12, a junior at Bowdoin, grabbed the NESCAC Player of the Year honors. Kennedy was NESCAC Player of the Week three times this season, and led the league in goals (31) and points (66). In the NCAA Tournament quarterfinals, Kennedy scored two goals, including an overtime winner to help Bowdoin advance to the semifinals. To watch video of her game winner, click here.
