Westminster to Hold Admissions Open House

Westminster School invites prospective students and their parents to attend its Admissions Open House to be held Nov. 3 from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. on campus at 995 Hopmeadow Street, Simsbury.

The evenings provide a great introduction to the range of programs offered to Westminster students and include presentations by students and faculty about student life, the curriculum, the faculty, the arts, athletics and college counseling. Prospective students and their families also will be able to visit the classrooms and learning environment of Westminster’s Armour Academic Center.

The open houses are an opportunity to meet faculty, current students and parents, as well as other prospective students considering Westminster. There will be numerous opportunities for individual questions.

Westminster’s rigorous academic program includes 23 AP offerings; class sizes averaging 12 students or fewer; a student to teacher ratio of 5:1; and honors, elective and independent study courses. The academic program is comparable to those offered at much larger schools and is enhanced by an extensive afternoon program and extracurricular activities. In recent years, nearly 90 percent of Westminster students have been accepted at colleges and universities classified by Barron’s Profiles of American Colleges as “most competitive” or “highly competitive.”

Those wishing to attend an open house should call the Admissions Office at (860) 408-3060. For  more information please visit www.westminster-school.org/openhouse
